Jiang Xueqin: Predictive History or Irresponsible History?
2:20 PM Friday.
Here is my common on the first 15 minutes of Jiang Xueqin: Chain Reaction Toward World War III Has Begun, which is all I had time to listen to this afternoon:
Given the interconnected nature of five current conflicts (China-Taiwan, North Korea-South Korea, Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Iran, and US-Venezuela) there is no question we are on a dangerous course, but I think it is more inflammatory than helpful to argue that a chain reaction toward WW3 has begun. There is still time for human agency to prevent WW3 between China, North Korea, Russia, Iran and Venezuela on one side and the US, Taiwan, South Korea, Ukraine and Israel on the other. There are strengths and weaknesses to Trump's November 2025 NSS, but it is not a match deterministically lighting a WW3 fuse. China may be correct to call the political crisis in Venezuela an internal matter, as it may be correct to criticize the US on a number of other fronts, but where would we be now if China had asked Maduro to step down after he lost the 2024 election? Where would be now if China had called on Putin not to invade Ukraine in February of 2022? Where would we be now if China had called on Khamenei to pay more attention to Iran's water problem than to a genocidal proxy war and nuclear weapons brinkmanship with Israel? The idea that China is blameless and the US alone is responsible for our current security dilemma is extremely one-sided. It is not responsible history.

Rebuttal from @Jax1317:
China decided not to interfere overtly so why do you think it’s necessary to blame them for non interference? If London and US allowed Russia into NATO this wouldn’t be an issue. If London and US gave the Soviets the cash they needed to capitalize prior to collapse the world would be incredibly different. Imagine the world if Kennedy wasn’t assassinated. How would today’s world be if Israel wasn’t created by the British? Venezuela is being harassed right now because Iran still needs to be conquered by Israel. The US economy will tank into the floor if the straight [sic] of Hormuz is closed. So they need Venezuela’s oil in order to start the war on Iran. Russia is building a large front line against Europe right now and preparing for the inevitable attack by nato. Venezuela will defend against trumps attack and do just enough damage to the US to cause panic on the mainland and risk collapsing the government. The European dogs will attack Russia. China will use this chaos to take Taiwan. North and South Korea might flare up or make peace and if Japan and Australia come in to deter China, North Korea will flank them. Now the US will not be capable of helping Israel with Iran. Thus allowing Iran to close the straight attack Israel and the world will be destroyed by nuclear Armageddon…. Hopefully the last but doesn’t occur.
My responses:
China's UNSC veto, actual or threatened, is not non-interference. China's one-sided propaganda narrative is not non-interference. Why are you trying to make China sound blameless for its mistakes handling the Iran, Russia and Venezuela files over the last few years? Is that responsible, balanced history that builds understanding or one-sided war propaganda?
China officially backed Maduro after the 2024 election. How is that non-interference? I could respond to the rest of your analysis point by point, but it is sufficient to start at the top and see whether you respond with movement toward genuine mutual understanding.
I could have done better, in retrospect.
End 7:00 AM.
