From David to a Vulnerable Goliath

My comment on Genocide? (Dec 7, 2023):

Absolutely brilliant discussion looking back from 17 Dec 2025 through Yossi's understandable rage following Bondi Beach. Yossi's critical insight: Israel as a "Pharisee nation" in the unconscious Christian progressive discourse. Donniel's critical insight: Israel as a "vulnerable Goliath" without a UNSC veto.

I was completely with Netanyahu (and UKLFI) in my rejection of the genocide allegation against Israel until March 2025, when the IDF broke the ceasefire and cut off aid to Gaza. Since that time, I am very concerned that the Netanyahu coalition has been playing into South Africa's case. It's getting harder, in retrospect, to say that Netanyahu's intention was not a one-Jewish-state solution with as few Palestinians as possible all along. Netanyahu does not seem to have Donniel's heartfelt yearning for peaceful two-state coexistence. To investigate Netanyahu for disproportionate force, war crimes, and even genocidal intent seems grossly antisemitic, on the one hand, and legally necessary, on the other. I'd prefer to see the legal review undertaken by Israelis through a state COI at a minimum, but now all of this is an open file at the ICJ and ICC. To be continued...

End 9:03 PM.
