Studying World History and Turtle Island Civilization(s) in a Balanced Way for the Creator and Future Generations

11:07 PM Tuesday.

I just finished reading the first chapter of World History: The Basics by Peter N. Stearns. This was after several hours of world history textbook research. I am very pleased that I decided to follow the lead of Stearns. His book is exactly what I was looking for. I am conscious of American pride, hopefully the healthy version of American exceptionalism, at work in this pleasant meeting of the minds. Could that be the legal and administrative glory of Rome in its essence? So, too, some contemplative Aristotelian eudaimonia. That would be Athens and the rational, philosophical light of ancient Greece. Definitely some preoccupation with Israel. That would be Jerusalem and Judeo-Christian theology. Rome, Athens, Jerusalem - the three ancient pillars of Western Civilization. But there is no small portion of Turtle Island enlightenment here, either. There is no forced displacement of Native American studies. Hopefully, I am learning to study world history and Turtle Island civilizations in a balanced way for the Creator and future generations.

May there be more good things to say about Stearns moving forward.

End 11:43 PM.
