2025 Day 317: The Onus is Squarely on Republicans to Fix the Healthcare Coverage and Affordability Crisis

6:32 AM Thursday.

Thank God the shutdown has ended. As I see it, the onus is now squarely on Republicans, especially in the Senate, to fix the healthcare coverage and affordability crisis. America's coverage gap, high costs, and sub-optimum outcomes relative to its free world peers are a Republican embarrassment. No wonder Mamdani just won in NYC. The Republicans are handing the future to anti-Zionist democratic socialists because the Republicans don't have a coherent and competitive social democratic capitalist alternative that can win in NYC.

Here is my plan for today:

  • 6-7+ AM      Day 317 Blog Post
  • 7-12 PM       Christian Studies Blog Post (Letter to Vermont)
  • 12-5 PM       Hermit Economics
  • 5-6 PM         Supper and Hygiene
  • 6-8 PM         Native American Studies
  • 8-5 AM        Sleep
  • 5-6 AM        Prayer
  • 6-7 AM        Day 318 Blog Post

If I had to choose between a good two-state democratic socialist and Senate Republicans on healthcare I would go with the two-state democratic socialist despite my current commitment to capitalism. Are Republicans forcing Americans to make a choice between unaffordable healthcare and anti-Zionist socialism?

End 7:36 AM.
