2025 Day 313: Spiritual Formation and Axios AM, PM, World Alerts

6:02 AM Sunday.

Yesterday went mostly according to plan, but there were some important exceptions. I napped in the morning segment and didn't complete my definition of "Religious Reading" until 3 PM. Then, instead of exercising, I caught up on the news and listened to a "Call Me Back" podcast (Between Mamdani and Tucker, Are Jews Getting Squeezed?) This has been an unfortunate 2-3 weeks with respect to my exercise regimen, and it doesn't look likely to get better today.

I woke at 4:15 AM, spent a little while in prayer, did some reading in Islamic Studies, and then planned out my day on an index card. I decided to focus the rest of my morning time block on edits to my Spiritual Direction page. I think it is best if I rename this page "Spiritual Formation" and add four more projects. The addition of these projects will involve the publication of four new blog posts.

Here is my schedule for the next 24 hours:

  • 6-7 AM      Day 313 Post
  • 7-12 PM    Spiritual Direction Page Edits and Blog Posts
  • 12-3 PM    Lunch, Laundry and Nap
  • 3-5 PM      Native American Studies
  • 5-6 PM      Supper and News
  • 6-9 PM      Jewish Studies, Including MJTI Zoom Class
  • 9-5 AM      Sleep
  • 5-6 AM      Prayer
  • 6-7 AM      Day 314 Blog Post

It's only 6:35 AM, so I will give myself a few minutes to check the headlines. Hmmm. I haven't updated my Edge bookmarks in a while. I have a bookmark folder titled "Morning Briefing" with nothing in it, and another folder labeled "Political Reading" with too much in it. I really need to do some work on a Daily Briefing project under Political Theology. Alright, I have just subscribed to Axios AM, Axios PM and Axios World Alerts. Let's see how that works.

End 6:56 AM.
