Q4 2025 Week 41 Plan

3:10 PM Saturday. Week 40 was a positive mental health recovery week and a strong overall start to the fourth quarter of 2025, but I will need to make some changes heading into Week 41. I wasn't able to stay awake for daily prayer from 8-9 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Instead, I retired to bed soon after supper each night, listened to about an hour of podcasts related to Israel, and then fell asleep early, exhausted. I didn't get a chance to revisit my Sunday morning question ("What must I do to be saved?") on Thursday morning or Thursday afternoon, and I didn't spend any time formulating Q4 goals for my Psalmody and Thoughts on Music projects. But I do feel relatively focused with Q4 goals for all of my other projects, and I did make some gentle breakthroughs with my Physical Exercise program, including 2K of jogging (my first jog in months) during today's 5K walk/run. My weight is back down again, too, so I have confidence I am moving in the right direction to reach 155 pounds by the end of December (that's a ten-pound fat loss, so I need to shed about a pound a week). Taking all of this into account, it looks like I need to trim my horarium so that I only spend an hour on Music of the Spheres from 6-7 PM each night. Then I will shift to evening prayer from 7-8 PM before going to bed. Let's see how this works in Week 41.

Note: The depiction of the planning fallacy at the top of this entry suggests that reality is a worst-case scenario. This is not necessarily more realistic than assuming it is a best-case scenario. We need to avoid wishful thinking, but we also need to avoid catastrophic thinking. Realistic optimism is hope with a plan. Cf. Matthew 19:26.

End 5:23 PM.
