Opinion, Doubt, Knowledge and Belief

6:23 PM Saturday. In my most recent post on the subject of Christian Earth Science, I asked the following question: "Should I take it on faith in the overlapping magisterium of science that polygenesis has been proven, and is dogma, or should I take it on faith in the overlapping magisterium of the Catholic Church that monogenesis, and with it the transmission of some kind of heritable original sin (whether physical or metaphysical), has been set in stone and is dogma?" Before I can properly answer this question, one thing I need to do is refine my ability to distinguish between opinion, knowledge, and faith.

The above Aquinas 101 video is a great start. Gemini takes me deeper. I'd like to continue my study, but this is where I need to leave off this evening:

It's a thread that very much calls to mind my work at the end of April 2025 in Toward a First Article of Assent.

End 7:18 PM.
