Accelerating Spaceship Earth to Warp Speed Under Trump 2.0

3:28 PM Friday. Well, here I am on Friday afternoon, and I am supposed to be writing and reflecting exclusively in my new weekly Quadrant II Family Support block from 3-5 PM, but I haven't written anything since Monday, and there has been so much going on, that I really need to open this into a free-writing session, take it all the way until 7 PM, and allow myself to cover as much ground as I can. I will begin by pointing out that I am getting due for a telephone call with my sister Kara in Florida and might as well use this opportunity to call her to mind, send her some love, and make her my first audience for this entry.

I helped Mom prepare for the delivery of a new refrigerator on Wednesday. It's a side-by-side stainless-steel behemoth.  She is much happier with it than the old one, which was getting too hard for her to access. This coming Monday morning, on Columbus and Indigenous Peoples' Day, I am taking Mom out for breakfast to celebrate her 82nd birthday. That makes it an extra-special Old World-New World Convergence Day for our family this time around. There are some interesting things happening astrologically on Monday, too. But before I get into that, let me just take a quick minute to ask how Cuomo and Mamdani are expecting to campaign on Monday. Is Cuomo Old World, and Mamdani New World? Maybe so. Is this a day for Americans to focus more on what divides the two candidates, or more on the resilient ethnic multi-dimensionality of the New World Alpha++ city that platforms them?

Of course, I have been heavily absorbed by coverage of the Trump plan for Gaza. Is it a victory for the genocidal colonizers or the indigenous war criminals? Which side is which? Are both of these harmful oversimplifications that the Trump plan transcends? Yes! 

When I spoke with my therapist on Wednesday morning, I was depressed by thoughts that a failure of Trump's Gaza plan might be imminent. Then somehow the negotiators reached a breakthrough. Perhaps God used Trump to work a Sukkot miracle in the Middle East. We'll see. Now that the IDF has withdrawn to the yellow line, getting all of the hostages back home for Simchat Torah is the next step (cf. Gaza ceasefire starts as IDF completes partial withdrawal; Hamas has 72 hours to return hostages | The Times of Israel). I don't know if that's when the UN will be allowed to flood the strip with aid (cf. UN is ready to surge aid into Gaza after deal | AP News) or if it can start sooner. There are hundreds of difficult steps yet to navigate. I think the Norwegian Nobel Committee was wise to give Trump more time to see this all through. At the moment, we very much need to shine a spotlight on the situation in Venezuela (cf. Nobel Peace Prize 2025 | NobelPrize.org). I have no doubt the Trump team will agree Machado is fully deserving this year, just as I have no doubt the Machado team is praying that Trump will be even more deserving than he already is now in another year or two. Maybe the Trump 2.0 administration will help facilitate additional peace breakthroughs in Sudan, Ukraine, Venezuela and Iran. Maybe the administration will be overwhelmed by authoritarian setbacks to the rule of law. It is hard to say. Love it or hate it, agree with it or resist it, the second Trump administration is accelerating the rate of change on Spaceship Earth to warp speed.   

Bringing this discussion back to astrology, knowing full well that I am ambivalent about this field, there are two thoughts I would like to share. First, I have been doing some investigation of Jupiter, which is presently exalted in tropical Cancer, and I see that it will be in Libra during the 7 November 2028 election. Specifically, it will be at 15 degrees 55 minutes of Libra at 7:25 AM here in Albany, New York, in a tight square to a conjunction between the Moon and the South Node at 15 degrees of Cancer. In other words, Jupiter will be just on the far side of the midpoint of the Scales of Justice, in a perfect square to the North and South Nodes. Interestingly enough, California Governor Gavin Newsom has his natal Sun at 16 degrees 30 minutes of Libra (cf. LUNA® | Gavin Newsom Birth Chart). It's a striking coincidence. I am not saying this to make a prediction, to suggest predestination, or to express a preference. I am just pointing out a compelling synchronicity for further consideration by the empirically inclined.

Second, I see that at 5:25 PM here in Albany on 13 October 2025, Neptune will be on the Ascendant, opposite Venus on the Descendant, in a kite aspect with Pluto and Uranus. It's a very interesting chart. Venus has just entered 0 degree 0 minutes of tropical Libra, forming a grand air trine with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini. The tension-release point is Neptune at 0 degree 12 minutes of Aries, right on the Ascendant. I've made a free-writing follow-up appointment for 5-7 PM Monday evening. I am curious to see what arises. Perhaps all of the living and immediately recoverable hostages will be home by then, and aid will begin flooding into Gaza.
