Consultation with Mentors Q4 2025 Goal
It's 4:07 PM on Sunday as I begin to write. We've just rounded the bend on a new lunation, but the Virgo eclipse is still underway astronomically. Astrologically speaking, we will be meditating upon the symbolic implications of this eclipse, combined with the Sun's Libra ingress and opposition to Saturn and Neptune, for at least a few days yet. From a kosher astrology perspective, this will blend into Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy days, culminating with Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah. From a mundane astrological perspective, this will further overlap with the UN General Debate in NYC, with a particular focus on the question of balanced justice for the state of Israel and the Palestinian people - a matter that it may well take until the conjunction of Neptune and Saturn in Aries next February to become an order of magnitude clearer. Both the Palestinian people and the Jewish people and their respective leaderships still have many important decisions to make. I do not know if the outcome is foreordained, either in the stars or in international law. It might not even be foreordained in sacred Scripture. So much depends on our theology. But returning for a moment to the ongoing eclipse: Pluto and Uranus are also heavily involved in this alignment, for everyone on Earth in general, and in a specific way for me and the rest of my age cohort, with our natal Pluto in the final degrees of Virgo or the first degrees of Libra.
This doesn't at first seem to have too much to do with strategic thinking about spiritual mentors, which is the primary subject of this post and of my Sunday afternoon time block when I am fully absorbed in my horarium. But maybe there is an important connection.
If you'd like to read the conversation that I had with Google Gemini about the nature of spiritual mentorship during the moments leading up to the lunisolar conjunction earlier this afternoon, see here: https://share.google/aimode/qo5MX4JEEOQDG5ddy.
Developing and applying the insights that I began to gain during this Gemini research session will take some time. Boiling it down into a Q4 2025 goal statement, I'd like to clarify the nature of my relationships with 1) the Holy Spirit, my divine mentor; 2) a primary human spiritual mentor; and 3) a personal advisory board of supporting human spiritual mentors (both active and passive). One question that comes to mind, for example: do I have a primary human spiritual mentor right now? If so, which one of my contacts is it? If not, is it better to pray and wait for that relationship to arrive, or unconsciously "force" someone into that role ahead of God's schedule or contrary to God's design? Hmmm. How is that for begging the question?
I'd also like to spend an appropriate amount of time in Q4 thanking and praying for all of my previous spiritual mentors, with special attention at the outset to Enrico and Nadia Natali. I really feel that I owe them a dedicated blog post and a follow-up email.
Art at top: Kim Young Gil (a name that makes me think of my AmeriCorps days with gratitude, national service pride and a healthy degree of repentance for those situations I wish I had handled differently).

Quick afterthought: regarding clarification of the nature of my relationship with the Holy Spirit, it looks like I might need to distinguish between actual grace and sanctifying grace. For further study.
