Pluto in Tropical Aquarius
It's 3:01 AM EDT, tropical Aquarius is almost done culminating here in Albany according to my LUNA subscription, and I am carrying through on a welcome resurgence in my resolve to systematize and publicize key components of my eremitic Christian discernment process. I awakened obscenely early this morning, and instead of reaching for my smartphone to check my YouTube feed or my Google tabs while still in bed, I got up and settled myself in at the desktop computer so that my next round of online activity would be more intentional. Then, somewhat to my surprise, I found myself opening LUNA. That's how I realized the Midheaven was passing through Aquarius, on its way to a 5:33 AM EDT Neptune-Saturn conjunction at the 2nd degree of tropical Aries in a sextile with Pluto. I guess I will be working on this entry until at least then. Time to make myself a cup of caffeine-free herbal tea.
Alright, it is 3:53 AM EDT, I have just returned to my desktop with fresh water and a cup of herbal tea, and the Moon is culminating at 4 degrees of tropical Pisces. For tea, I went with a mix of gingko, lemon balm, gotu kola and peppermint from Jean's Greens. But I don't intend to get pulled into a discussion about pharmacological Christian mysticism and the Pisces-Virgo axis just yet, however strongly the Moon and North Node in Pisces may now be drawing me in that direction. Let's see if I can save that for a writing session on Sunday, 20 July 2025 at 10 PM EDT, when Mars is conjunct the South Node in Virgo.
There are two key points I want to make about Pluto in Aquarius this morning. First, I want to link to my Amazon review of Kosher Astrology: A Jewish Guide to Celestial Wisdom by Yitzchok A. Pinkesz. Here is the text of that review:
Perfectly Timed for Pluto's Journey Through Tropical AquariusHashem led me to discover and order this book within a day of Pluto's Aquarius ingress, for which its release seems exquisitely timed - given the mystagogical nature of Pluto and the important discussion of Aquarius in Chapter 33. The book is a major contribution to the field and has been a godsend for me personally. It is exceptionally well written (Mercury) and beautifully executed (Venus). While many of the footnotes are in Hebrew and I only speak English, I don't feel I missed out on a single kernel of insight. Aimed first at the observant Jew, it is nonetheless a perfect introduction for the God-fearing Gentile student of Torah and tropical astrology. Pinkesz has convinced me there is a genuine debate to be had about the future of kosher astrology in Torah-observant circles, including Messianic and Noahide circles, alongside a consensus prohibition of unkosher astrology. As someone deeply concerned with the correct integration of science and religion for good stewardship of world civilization, I sympathize with those rabbinic authorities who are tempted to dismiss all astrology as unkosher pseudoscience, but I have personally observed too many astrological correlations to write an opinion against it on either scientific or religious grounds. I need to give it more time and study before I am ready to formulate a conclusion, one way or the other. Pinkesz has given us a solid foundation for the next twenty years of our God-fearing astrological research and debate, whichever side of the fence we fall on. May Pluto's Aquarius transit be the perfect time for the living waters of Torah in Kosher Astrology to reach the world in a transformative, uplifting way. Read this gentle and kind book with an open heart. Enjoy the journey, consult with your rabbi, and don't be afraid to ask tough questions. May G-d answer us in due course and may Pinkesz and Mosaica Press be encouraged to publish a follow-up volume, perhaps dealing in greater detail with the Seven Pivotal Periods and the Twelve Lifetime Turning Points!
There is much to unpack here. I will leave that for future comments and entries.
The second point I want to make concerns a chart I cast with StarFisher back on 3 December 2024. StarFisher is the freeware I used from 2010-2024, before I upgraded to LUNA. Here is the chart I cast last December:
